DRS’s Sabrina Brannan receives RFG Award

DRS is very proud to announce that Sabrina Brannan, Business Manager for our Intermodal services, received Rail Freight Group’s (RFG) award for Outstanding Individual Contribution in 2012/2013.
DRS nominated Sabrina for the award not only for her performance in 2012/2013 but also because since joining DRS in 1999, her customer service skills have consistently shone through in every role she has undertaken.

Sabrina has fantastic working relationships with her colleagues at DRS, as well as with customers, and this helps her to deliver the high level of service required in the fast developing market of the Intermodal world.

Since 2009, Sabrina has been heavily involved in developing Domestic Intermodal business for DRS, seeing in growth of approximately 350%. Sabrina and her team have played key roles in delivering the highest levels of operational performance and customer service, which has meant DRS successfully maintained the number of services operated for WH Malcolm, JG Russell and ASDA.
In addition, Sabrina was not only instrumental in helping DRS secure a major rail freight contract with Stobart Rail and Tesco in September 2011, but also worked to set up the new services and operations in the timescales needed by the client.

In 2012/13, Sabrina has contributed to the successful implementation of a new dedicated Tesco service which started operating 6 days a week between Daventry and Wentloog. In addition, Sabrina facilitated a ‘first of its kind’ regular sharing service between two of the UK’s largest supermarkets – ASDA and Tesco – these otherwise fierce competitors agreed to share a train service under Sabrina’s management.

When it came to preparing the nomination, DRS customers were pleased to lend their support. John Holwell, Rail Development Manager for WH Malcom said, “It gives me great pleasure to comment on Sabrina as one of your [DRS’s] employees who always responds promptly and efficiently to our requirements. She has a focused but pleasant and courteous demeanour and I have great pleasure in supporting DRS’s nomination for the RFG’s outstanding contribution award”.

Not only have the RFG rewarded Sabrina’s contribution to the industry, she was also recognised by Tesco at their Annual Supplier Conference when they awarded her an “Outstanding Individual Contribution Supporting the Tesco Rail Operation”.

Sabrina is keen to stress that although the Tesco award was presented to her, she has accepted it on behalf of the team at DRS as it recognises the hard work and efforts by everyone who contributes to the delivery of the Intermodal services.

Chris Connelly, Director of Commercial and Business Development at DRS said, “I would like congratulate Sabrina on this fantastic achievement, delivering to the exacting standards of our Domestic Intermodal customers requires the highest level of operational performance and customer care. This award demonstrates DRS’s position as the industry leader in this market.”
