Northern Power Women campaign to raise awareness of gender diversity throughout the North of England. This year they are hosting their fourth awards ceremony to celebrate fantastic role models and companies across the North who have been influential in making a difference to gender diversity.
Direct Rail Services (DRS) received the prestigious Golden Whistle Award for the sixth time running, when they were officially declared ‘The Best Performing Rail Freight Operator’.
To commemorate the service of the Class 37s on the Cumbrian Coast, Northern and Direct Rail Services (DRS) have commissioned a farewell return journey between Carlisle and Carnforth on Friday 11 January.
DRS are sponsoring the 2019 awards which take place on 15 May 2019.
Eddie Stobart announces the launch of its new train service hauled by Direct Rail Services, connecting the Port of Tilbury to Tesco’s site in Daventry, and then Daventry to Mossend, Scotland. Launched on the 3 September, this is Eddie Stobart’s first ever train service to run from the Port of Tilbury, with the capacity to travel with between 30 and 36 containers.
Direct Rail Services (DRS), scooped their fourth award of the week, with their Class 88 locomotive being named as Train of the Year – freight/ mixed traffic at the prestigious National Rail Awards held in London on September 13. With over 1,200 attending, the event is one of the biggest events in the rail industry’s calendar.
The Rail Freight Group (RFG) was delighted to present Direct Rail Services (DRS) with its coveted Business of the Year Award 2018. The award was presented to managing director Debbie Francis and her team at a dinner held on 12 September at the De Vere Latimer Estate Hotel, Chesham.
Our annual event took place on Saturday 21st July 2018 at our Gresty Bridge Depot in Crewe. The Open Day raises money for charities and local causes and DRS are delighted to announce that a record breaking £37,351 was raised at this year's event. DRS would like to thank everyone who attended and supported the day!
As the UK rail network fights against the extreme weather conditions, DRS is helping Network Rail keep the UK moving by clearing snow from train lines across the country.
